Quality Assurance Policy

Objective: The objective of the company's policy as a fundamental part of it's quality system is to provide as far as reasonably practical a first-time, snag-free completion hand over.

Scope: The policy is applicable to all Excel (Portam) Ltd. employees.

The policy will also apply to all persons having responsibilities that relate to and necessitate their presence and execution of their duties within the areas of Excel Portam Ltd. works/premises. These persons include the employees of Sub-Contractors, Consulting Practices and the Client plus Self Employed persons.

Responsibility: The application and promotion of the Policy is the responsibility of Senior Management of this company. Whilst duties and tasks may be delegated, the overall responsibility remains that of Senior Management. The Director responsible is M. J. Brampton.

Personal Obligations: All company employees, regardless of their status, are expected to abide by the principles of this policy as and where applicable. We also expect the cooperation of all those mentioned within the Scope section of this policy to work in such a way as to achieve the overall objective.

Participation: Individuals can make vital contributions to the development and implementation of policies. There will be opportunities for participation in this process via the involvement of employees and representatives.

Application: The following principles shall be applied to all operations undertaken by the company and shall be the basis of any specific instructions, methods or systems which may be necessary in order to achieve the Policy objective. To ensure that this policy can be successfully implemented, the company will provide such reasonable funds as may be necessary.

Implementation, Training and Instruction: Information from risk assessments, performance monitoring activities and the employee consultation process will be used to identify any training needs of employees. As from 16/12/02 the Insulation industry was incorporated within the CSCS Scheme. It is Company Policy that as from 1/1/03 all employees will commence the achievement of a CSCS card and Health & Safety accreditation.

This policy shall be reviewed and kept up-to-date by Director in charge of Quality, to take into account and reflect changes in the nature and range of activities carried out by the company and take advantage of the operational experience, negative and positive, as often as may be necessary.
